Airports are such fascinating places. Today the airport seemed like a pretty exciting, friendly place. I was delighted to hang around for over 2 hours there, watching all the fresh, young faces preparing to go to Japan. Yes, I did hover a lot (Z would have been disappointed if I hadn't). But I also felt quite reassured. I got a chance to get to the the teachers going on the trip, and I liked them both a lot. I also liked the way they seemed to work together - a very comfortable give and take between them. It was good to see Z with her friends - heck, Stephen was so comfortable he was falling asleep on the floor - it's hard to stay anxious in the face of such total relaxation! Z got a bit huggy towards the end as she realized that she had never flown on a plane without parents before - a very sweet way to say good-bye.
I'm actually glad I had to go to work today and that we will be busy getting ready for NOWM tomorrow - it will keep me from dwelling on zero-kid-ness and getting soppy (although we all know I really love soppy).
Wed, June 8:
J - 8
B - 4 (I hope Yoshi feels better soon - his reluctance to walk really cuts into my exercise time!)
