Beginning to feel like Spring
Jan. 13th, 2005 11:20 amOh, I know that it won't last (in fact it is supposed to get down to 11 degrees F this weekend). But, for the moment, the weather is warm, birds are singing, and it feels like spring. Also, all the exciting upcoming events are starting to take shape and feeling very real.
For example, we got the information on Our Japanese exchange student who is coming in March. Her name is Sayo (how would we pronounce that, X?) - now we get to start shopping for gifts, making plans, etc. Surprise, surprise - she like to shop! She and her father and brother also like baseball, which makes gift ideas easy. Too bad it's too early for an Indians game.
Also, the January SCA event is only a few weeks away. The program for the Musicians' Guild is getting settled and we actually sound pretty good. We probably won't have much new in the way of garb done by then, but at the event there is a class called "The Thrifty Anachronist" which should give me lots of new ideas.
Plus, I got DDR Extreme today. (No, Skye, I don't have Eye Toy yet - do you recommend it?) I've only played it once so far, but it's great to have some new songs I can actually manage. Is it my imagination, or are the 4 foot songs on Extreme easier than on Max 1 or 2? I've only gotten through the first few songs, so I may have a rude awakening coming up.
Still, there are tons of fun things to look forward to!
