Latin can be fun (and yummy)!

Yesterday, in addition to all the birthday festivities and the fun of having Allie sleep over all weekend, S had a Latin competition hosted by her high school. I volunteered to help and, luckily, they gave me a job that had nothing to do with Latin (since I had a deprived childhood and the only Latin I know is from making my kids let me do practice Latin quizzes with them so I'll learn a bit). I got to run the bake sale, which was right up my alley. If I do say so myself, I did a great job of hawking the wonderful baked goods and helped make a lot of money for the Latin Club - I talked people into buying much more than they had planned and even got some people to write checks for large amounts of goodies. And, even though I was staring at wonderful goodies for hours, I didn't even cheat on my diet! I love feeling a part of school activities and, yes, checking out the cute young guys. Don't let them fool you - there are a lot of very cute guys who are into Latin. All that and brains, too!
