Kids tromping through the house,

making lots of noise and a big mess - I love it! Even a simple Girl Scout meeting is enough to make me happy. As much as I loved having little kids, having bigger kids is a ton easier. I don't have to do a thing except sit back and enjoy the chaos. I also am beginning to appreciate my basement: it's not big or fancy (far from it!) but it is self-contained and very easy to clean up afterward. Also, we have accumulated a ton of art-stuff down there. It's nice that, whenever one of the girls asks "is it ok to use this?", I know that I can say "absolutely!" Anything down there is fair game.

And what great, creative kids! Ok, so they may not follow through on everything they are supposed to do for Girl Scouts. And they are so creative and have so much fun together that getting something done can take forever. But it's a pleasure to see such good friends working so well together!
