I got rid of 122 bags of stuff! It was a soggy day, which seems to be traditional for Homecoming. After last weekend's waiting-for-Salvation-Army fiasco, I expected the worst: I figured that we would be stuck at home, J would have to miss seeing the Homecoming float, and we still would be stuck with a garage full of junk. Wrong! Salvation Army actually arrived, took all 122 bags (although they had sworn they could only take 50) and all in time for us to go to the Homecoming Parade together. At least this year it wasn't actually pouring for the Parade and it was fun to see the float and the kids all decked out. Anti-Homecoming also worked out well - it was our first party trial of the karaoke machine and it seemed to be a success (at least there was singing from the basement for a long while - and I got to sing 2 songs).
And my garage is junk-free!
