Our course flies yet again
Sep. 14th, 2005 03:04 pmThis is very good news. Every year, for umpteen years now, we've taught a year-long course in the basics of what we do. It's very good for us in many ways: it's a good change of pace from our usual work, it's easy, fun, only takes up 2 days per month, and pays well. There used to be similar courses all over the country, but most of the people we know who taught such courses taught them for a few years, until the market dried up and there were no more students to teach. So, I keep waiting for us to run out of students and have to give it up.
But so far, so good. This year, the Saturday course was completely full even before the registration deadline and the Friday course is filling up nicely. We have several weeks to go before the classes actually start, so I'm hoping that both sections will be pretty full. But even if things stay exactly as they are now, it's great. I don't know how long we'll be able to pull this off, but I'll take one year at a time and enjoy it while it lasts.
