Victory!

We were victorious at Pennsic in many different ways: The Midrealm (my side) devastated the East Kingdom in the actual war (26 to 1! I, personally, was victorious over major sun, dust and thunderstorms and was able to have a great time. I spent a lot of time on the boffer list learning to be a Youth Boffer Marshall and both C and I succeeded in getting our official authorization to train youth fighters (so Vreile, Ylaria and other kids can fight almost every meeting). It was also a lot of fun to hang out with Sean and the other Youth Marshals. I went to a lot of helpful and interesting classes and totally enjoyed our Bork Household. OK, we may be the black sheep of the Cleftlands, but I am very happy and proud to be Bork. When Maggie said that she was camping with Bork, Sarah/Quasar actually had the nerve to tell her "Don't worry, you'll do better next year" which prompted Maggie's Lord to challenge Sarah's Lord to a duel. However, we were the only household to get called up at Midrealm Court to receive the Purple Fretty (an award for service) - In fact, we are one of only two existing households to have ever received this award. And, when we were called forward at court, there was a resounding cry of BORK! throughout the crowd of people there, showing how much people know and support us. It felt great! The Bork tavern party was a big success and included such highlights as an Assassin's duel in the street and a duel between me and my own daughter (just because I called Bork "tacky", which to me was a compliment). Our Baron organized our duel into a thumb-wrestling contest. I may have lost, but we both fought nobly and a good time was had by all.

All in all, it was an excellent war!

Back to mundane life (I was hoping that the enormous amount of walking I did - my thighs literally ached! - would offset the ice cream and junk food, but no such luck):
