Great Timing!

Nausicaa dies one day, we buy a new computer the next day, and our beloved computer geek kid comes home from college the next day - what could be better timing?! Of course, it's delightful to have him home regardless of his computer skills, but it's great to have him around to get things up and running. And, yes, we do have a name for our new computer: He will be Ni (otherwise known as Ekky-ekky-ekky-ekky-z'Bang, zoom-Boing, z'nourrrwringmm). I think I'll probably call him Ni, only occasionally calling him Ekky-Ekky.

X's flight came in at 3 pm Sat and I was frustrated because I had to teach until 6 pm. Then we had our gourmet dinner group that evening, so I only got to see him for an hour before it was time to leave. However, Sunday made up for it: we saw Star Wars Episode 3 (which could have been much worse but also could have been much better - why didn't they consult with me first?). Then we had our traditional after-movie Indian food buffet, followed by some quick shopping (actually getting by usually-threatened socks and underwear). We had a belated birthday celebration for X, followed by computer-naming, games, and computer messing-around-ness. All in all, very satisfying - X may only be home for 2 weeks, but we certainly are getting the most bang for our buck.
