Cynwrig made the finals!

Last night was the Standard Bearer's Tournament - the tournament where they fight for the honor of being the champion rapier fencer for the Cleftlands all year. Cynwrig was fencing in the tournament, but none of us expected too much. He is doing well, but . . . Anyway, he kept winning! And actually made the finals, where he was one of five fighting for the championship! It was very exciting and I was very proud. (I was glad Nial told me to wear garb, so I could look respectable as he kept bowing to me to show that he was fighting in my honor) - It would have been tacky to be in jeans.

The funny part was that Dulcia was the Herald and she simply could not pronounce Cynwrig's name anywhere near correctly. And she had to announce it over and over, since he was doing so well and fought lots of battles. Everyone was cracking up and trying to help her (no one else seems to have any trouble pronouncing his name once they hear it) - Nothing helped and we couldn't stop laughing. I actually missed a few battles until I realized that I couldn't go the names called - at times she called out something like Simon, other times something like Cinnabar. She's a great sport and could take the ribbing. And, it's great that his name had to be called so many times.
