We survived the Alamo!

We had our previously-yearly-but-not-in-the-past-three-years Alamo Day party last night (ok, Alamo Day is March 6th, so we are just 2 years and 2 months late). We had a good turn-out and, if noise level is any indication, people had a good time. The food was great and I even made a contribution (which shocked everyone). I made a Whiskey Cheesecake with Pumpkin Seed Crust which came out very well. I was much less crazed about preparations than usual - my father's death has put things in perspective, so I didn't worry about cleaning much at all. I only yelled at my daughter once (sorry, Zan!) which is an improvement over other years. Now we have tons of yummy leftovers and we have fulfilled our social obligations for two years (at least). It may take us most of that 2 years just to clean up the mess left behind!
