Party time
Jan. 16th, 2005 07:39 pmIt was Saturday night and I was tired - All I wanted to do was stay home, maybe do a little sewing. But we were having our sort-of annual After Holiday Office Party, and since I'm one of the bosses, it was mandatory. Thankfully, it was not at our house, and we'd had to do very little, but we did have to attend. We got there early and helped set up and it was quite pleasant, if unexciting. There were blue drinks per my request (yay, JoEllen!) and J's guacamole makes any party worthwhile.
Then, all of a sudden, I started feeling rotten. One second I felt tired but fine, then the next second I had a bad sore throat and ached all over. I bummed some Tylenol off someone and sat fairly quietly (at least for me), waiting until the party would end and I could go home and go to bed. Apparently the party was enough of a success that no one left until late and then, as 2 out of 3 hosts, we had to stay and help clean up. Finally, I got home and collapsed as soon as I took a Cold Eeze. If I'm getting sick, I'd better get over it before next weekend (romantic B & B weekend with no kids)!
