A return to normalcy

Thankfully, the 2nd week of vacation was much better than the first. I made up for my prior lack of sleep and was able to do one of my absolute favorite things: relax and hang out with my kids! The week went by much too quickly, but that's always the case. Some of the best moments were when my kids had friends over and J and I got back into sewing in the basement. Relaxing, chatting, the sound of a herd of elephants on the stairs as kids raid my frig (where does all the whipped cream go?) - all that and we end up actually accomplishing something as well! What more could one ask?! We made J a new, dressier tunic, made S some ultra-cool curtains for her room, and made a classy Oriental tote bag for me. Now that we are back into sewing, I can't wait to get going on some Court-appropriate garb for me - that will be a challenge!

I wouldn't mind being retired and continuing "vacation" indefinitely, but going back to work isn't actually all that bad. Having X go back to college left me with a sinking feeling in the pit of my stomach, but it helps a lot that he's having such a great time. The snow has melted, so we can actually take long doggie walks again (just in time, too!) I have lots of fun events to look forward to, and Spring Break isn't all that far away.

Now, back to eating well and exercising!
