#2) Betrayal at House on the Hill

As soon as I heard about how different this game was (cooperative for the first part, then one of us becomes the villain and everything changes), I suddenly decided that I needed to have it. So, with a short period of free-time over Christmas break, we drove way out of our way to Glen Burnie to buy it. It brought us to an amazing game store (and, on the way, a great artist's co-op), so the trip was totally worth it.
The game itself is fun but quite variable. I love the early, world-building part. When the betrayal happens, there are many different scenarios, so this will have great re-play value. However, the balance seems to be off in each of the games we've played. In one game, the villain was way too powerful and, in another, the villain was way too weak. Maybe, as we play this more, this could change. In any case, it is a very different style of game and a good change of pace.
