A taste of Pennsic

definitely left me wanting more - and, thankfully, I'll be getting plenty in just a few days! We bopped over to Slippery Rock, PA for just 24 hours to help get camp set up, then came home to work for a week, returning again this coming Friday for a full week at Pennsic. Last year, we were total newbies and just showed up on the 2nd weekend. Everything was all set up and we were like visitors. It worked fine, but this is so much better!

By helping to set up, we feel much more a part of things and got to help make decisions. As a result, we set up a wonderful camp, if I do say so myself. Somehow we seem to have tons more room than last year: a nice kitchen tucked away so no one visiting can see our dirty dishes; a cafe-type area with tables and candles so we can eat, work on projects, play cards, etc in comfort; plus lots of open area for chairs to just hang around a campfire or inside out of the rain. OK, so our silver monster tarp is a blight on the medieval neighborhood, but, from a distance, it does sort of look like duct tape, which is totally SCA. Besides, Bork is often a blight in different ways and we are proud of it.

It's weird to come back home and have to deal with reality. However, in just a few days we get to go back and things will be all set up and ready to roll. I can't wait!
